BIOGRAPHY
Smt. Anjana Moyee Saikia started her career of dance at a very tender age with Sattriya dance style of Assam. She started learning ODISSI under the able guidance of Gorima Hazarika, a recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademi Award at Guwahati. She has attended many ODISSI dance workshops under the guidance of Padmabibhushan Guru Late Kelucharan Mahapatra and Guru Murolidhar Majhi of Kolkata. Later she was invited by renowned Danseuse Protima Bedi to NRITYAGRAM, Bangalore, a dance village of Indian classical Dance forms to be a part of their professional dance Ensemble. Anjana has performed extensively in many places of India and abroad. She has performed in dance festivals like Basistha festival, Basant Utsav, Nababarsha Mohotsav, Nritya Pratibha, and Octave Festival-Hyderabad etc. She has also performed in many places of United States like New-York, Florida, Washington, New-Orleans, Rochester, Hampton, Long Island, Maryland as well as Denmark, and Portugal. Anjana is now doing her higher studies of Odissi under the Guidance of Pabitra Pradhan, Bhubaneswar.Anjana has also learned Odissi under Reena Jhana of Kolkata.

Anjana has been trained in Sattriya Dance, a traditional classical form of Assam under Guru Borbayan Ghanakanta Borah, a recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. She has performed in innumerable Sattriya dance recitals and won accolades for her aesthetic sense in the dance style.
Aside of dance Anjana is also a stage actor. She has acted in lead characters for many dramas like Purush, Pinjora, Jerengar Sati and has been highly applauded for her performances.
Her passion of dance has also extended to the realm of dance choreography. Anjana has choreographed for many drama productions such as Puppet, Mora Manuh, Aami Puhor Bichari Paalu, Pinjora, etc.
Presently, Anjana is undergoing a research work on indigenous dance forms of Assam in collaboration with Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati. She also holds the honour of being a graded artiste of both Odissi & Sattriya style from Doordarshan .
Anjana holds M.Sc. in Statistics from Gauhati University and at present is working as a Lecturer in the Dept. of Community Medicine, Gauhati Medical College, Guwahati.
