BIOGRAPHY

Paritosh's musical journey began on 13th April 1977, the day he was born in Indore into a family of musicians. He grew in the musical environment, listening to greats like Ustad Amir Khan of Indore Gharana, Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan of Patiala Gharana, Ustad Salamat Ali & Ustad Najakat Khan of Shyam Chaurasi Gharana etc. amongst others.

His initial curiosity in music soon developed into an earnest lifelong pursuit. As a first step his tutelage began under Padmashri Pt. Goswami Gokulotsavji Maharai of Indore Gharana at Indore.

He completed his school education and did his graduation with subjects like Psychology and Ancient Indian Culture. Then Sangeet Research Academy happened. He was selected as a General Class Student in ITC SRA - Kolkata. but soon became a SCHOLAR under the guidance of his Gurus Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan & Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan of Kirana Gharana. With his matured, rich and sonorous voice he delineates a RAGA through ALAAPI and intricate TAANS. He sings TARANA & THUMRI also, but KHAYAL singing is something which is close to his heart.

Ustad Amir Khan, Roshan Aara Begum replica audemars piguet and Smt. Hirabai Barodekar have influenced his GAYAKI but he does not imitate them and has developed a distinct style of his own.To his mind, music is not commerce but an ART; not a means to material success but an end in itself. And he wants to be closer to this art form through sincere efforts and complete dedication. His performances have been appreciated widely all over India & abroad. At present he is in Kota grooming students in his founded Surtal Music Academy and is fast gaining recognition as a regular concert performer.
