BIOGRAPHY

Lipsa Dash is an Odissi Dancer from Bhubaneswar and a senior disciple of Guru Pitambar Biswal who was initiated to dance at the early age of 8 years, and nurtured and guided under the tutelage of Guru Sri Pitambar Biswal. Being born to family of art lovers, she was encouraged by her father Er. Guru Prasad Dash, helped by her mother Smt. Saudamini Dash and sister Ipsa Dash. In the Odissi repertoire, she is most especially fond of pallavis and abinaya pieces.

Academically, she is a graduate from Utkal University in Home Science and is now continuing her post graduate degree, but professionally continuing Alankar from Akhil Bharitya Ghandarv Mahabidyalaya mandal,Mumbai.

Lipsa Dash is a seasoned performer, and has danced both on television (Doordarshan(D.D.1 orissa),Etv-Oriya) and numerous festivals including, Puri Beach Festival, Puri-1998 Konark Festival,Konark-2002 Paramparaya Festival, Kollam-2003 Dhauli Mahostav, Bhubaneswar-2003 Ekamra Nrutya Mahostav, Bhubaneswar-2003 Barabati Nrutyaosaba, Cuttack-2004 Odissi Evening,Bhubaneswar-2004 Kharavela Nrutya Mahostav,Khandagiri-2005 Folk Festival ,Goa-2005 Natraj Mahostav, Mysore-2005 Shree Khetra Mahostav, Puri-2005 Sharad Mahostav,Brindaban-2005 Vedyavyasa Mahostav, Rourkela-2005 Cultural Evening (VIP Visit), Airforce Auditorium-New Delhi.-2006.
