Pracheeti Dange is a young, talented and a promising Odissi dancer. She has been learning
Odissi under the able guidance of renowned Kathak and Odissi exponent, Guru Smt. Yogini
Gandhi at the Kalanidhi Institute for the past 12 years. A lead dancer with the Kalanidhi troupe
and a soloist in her own, Pracheeti has performed extensively in concerts and major festivals all
over the country.
Pracheeti was selected in the Top Ten Talents of the Odissi International Festival 2013 and
was conferred with the ‘Odissi Prativa’ award. She was invited as a guest artist to perform in
Ahmedabad in December 2011 as a part of the international production ‘Geet Govind’ Ballet
presented by the Menaka Thakkar Dance Company (Canada). She has also been bestowed with
the prestigious ‘Nritya Shree’ title in 2010.
To acquire an in depth knowledge of the theoretical aspect of dance Pracheeti has succefully
completed a Diploma in Nrityashastra from the reputed Nalanda Dance Research Centre,
Mumbai. She won the first prize in the national level competition organized by Akhil Bharatiya
Sanskrutik Sangh, 2013.
She has been privileged to receive the blessings of legendary maestros – Guru Kelucharan
Mohapatra, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Smt. Sujata Mohapatra, Smt. Kumkum Lal and Guru Lingaraj
Pradhan, through the various workshops and seminars conducted by them.
Pracheeti has also been imparting training to young odissi dancers since July 2009.
While pursuing her Masters in Economics she simultaneously completed her diploma in Spanish
from the University of Pune and is a professional Spanish and French translator.
