BIOGRAPHY

Meena started to dance when she was barely 9 years of age. A graduate from Utkal University, a Nritya Visharad from Prachin Kala Kendra, Chandugarh and Nritya Shastri (Purna) from Orissa Sangeet Natak Academy, Bhubaneswar, Meena has been groomed under the tutelage of Padma Vibhushan Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra and Padmashree Guru Kumkum Mohanty.

Meena is registered under the Eastern Zonal Cultural Center (EZCC), Kolkata. To add a few to her feathers of honours, in a function organized by the EZCC, she has been honoured with Gold Medal as versatile young artiste of 2003-2004 by non other than the Governer of West Bengal.

Meena's dance school Nrutyashree in Cuttack Orissa, trains and tutors young aspirants towards spreading the beauty of Odissi and keeping this traditional art form very much alive.
